What are they? Why did We choose them?
Nylon: It is a thermoplastic, resistant, and silky material that can be melted into shapes. We chose it because we want our device to be resistant and strong so that it cannot be damaged easily.
Nylon Grip: We are going to place bumpy nylon strips all around the device so that it doesn't slip when the sonographer uses it.
L.E.D. Lights: These are small powerful lights that don't need much energy. They are going to be on the end four corners. They will blink when an abnormal cell is detected so the sonographer and any others helping know that something strange was detected.
Acoustic Face: An acoustic face or acoustic lens is placed at the time the transducer is manufactured and cannot be changed. The acoustic face/lens generally focuses in the mid field rather than the near or far fields. The exact focal length varies with transducer cable. This is a vital part and cannot be left out.
Acoustic Matching Interface: The acoustic matching interface is where the ultrasonic waves are reflected at boundaries where there is a difference in acoustic impedances, the ratio of acoustic pressure to acoustic volume flow which usually varies strongly when you change the frequency, of the materials on each side of the boundary. This is a vital part and cannot be left out.
Motherboard: This is very crucial because this is where all of the programs and codes are stored. For example we would code in different types of human normal cell so it knows what is normal and what is not. This is a vital part and cannot be left out.
Transducer Cable: Part of our device sends the electrical signals created by the piezoelectric crystals onto the display scrren.This is a vital part and cannot be left out.
Piezoelectric Crystal: This is the active element which is a piece of polarized material that can convert electrical signals to mechanical vibrations which can turn into electrical signals. This is a vital part and cannot be left out.
(Supporting) Metal Filler: These areas are going to have a light weight metal all around. The light weight metal will be a type of aluminum or titanium. We want to use this so that it keeps all the pieces in place and protects them.This is a vital part and cannot be left out.
